Who runs this
“Can Elon Musk Buy My City?” is operated by StudioRampage (studiorampage.com), in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (“we”, “us”).
What this is — and isn’t
This is an art and research project: a thought experiment about hyperwealth. An AI agent, steered by people, estimates what the physical assets of a city might sell for and compares that to a billionaire’s net worth. The numbers are speculative estimates produced for curiosity and commentary. They are not appraisals, and nothing here is financial, investment, real-estate, tax, or valuation advice. Don’t rely on it for any real decision.
The billionaires named on the site are public figures, used for commentary and satire. The project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
Your account
You’re responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password safe. Give accurate information when you sign up. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service or break these terms.
Credits, payments, and donations
Researching cities uses prepaid credits, which you buy through Stripe. Credits are a prepaid balance for using the service, not a stored-value or cash instrument, and they’re consumed as you use the agent. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. Prices are shown in the currency at checkout. If something goes wrong with a purchase, email us — your statutory consumer rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.
Your contributions
When you submit content — prompts, research, committed values, citations, and the resulting transcripts — you grant us and the public a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to store, display, distribute, and build upon that content as part of the public dataset, with attribution to your profile. Because the dataset is collaborative and cumulative, your contributions remain public even after you delete your account (the link to your account is removed). You confirm that you have the right to submit what you submit and that it isn’t confidential, private to someone else, or infringing.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or use the site to harm others;
- submit other people’s personal, private, or confidential information;
- knowingly enter false or misleading data to corrupt the shared dataset;
- harass anyone, or post abusive, hateful, or unlawful content;
- scrape, overload, probe, or attempt to break the service, or reverse-engineer it;
- misuse the AI agent, including attempts to extract secrets or bypass safety and usage limits.
Accuracy of the dataset
The dataset is built collaboratively by people and an AI agent and will contain errors, gaps, and disputed figures. It’s provided “as is”, for interest and commentary, with no guarantee of accuracy or completeness.
Intellectual property
The site, its name, design, and code belong to us. The public dataset is shared under the contribution licence above. Other names and trademarks (for example Stripe, Anthropic, and the public figures referenced) belong to their respective owners.
Third-party services
The site relies on third parties — including Anthropic, Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare, Fly.io, and Google — whose own terms and policies govern their part of the service.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and in particular without any warranty that the valuations are accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any decision made in reliance on the figures on this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Suspension and termination
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service, and may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Amsterdam, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you’re entitled to where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms; we’ll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
